Aurora provides radiation protection support to the scientific, academic, research, oil & gas, nuclear, environmental/land remediation, healthcare, defence/aerospace, wider industrial, life sciences, and public sectors.
The Ionising Radiations Regulations 2017 (IRR17) apply to any employer undertaking work in an atmosphere containing radon gas at an annual average concentration in air exceeding 300 Bq/m3. Every employer undertaking such work is legally obliged to appoint and consult a suitable Radiation Protection Adviser (RPA) for the purpose of advising the employer on the observance of IRR17.
Aurora’s Health and Safety Executive (HSE) approved RPA Body provides advice to Clients undertaking work in radon atmospheres to ensure that all Clients can demonstrate full compliance with the requirements of the IRR17. Aurora’s team of RPAs will work with Clients to ensure that the risk from radon gas is managed to a level that is as low as reasonably practicable while ensuring that costs remain proportional to the potential reduction in risk.
