L2 Business Consulting Limited is a HSE recognised Radiation Protection Adviser (RPA) Body in the UK. We support Employers in understanding, measuring, and controlling Radon Gas related radiation doses. We help Employers ensure compliance with the Ionising Radiations Regulations 2017 (IRR17) for Great Britain and Ionising Radiations (Northern Ireland) Regulations 2017 (IR(NI)R17) for Northern Ireland, including where notification to regulators is needed when work is carried out in an atmosphere containing Radon Gas at annual average activity concentration in air exceeding 300 Bq/m3, which then requires Employers to comply with IRR17/ IR(NI)R17 including appointment of a suitable RPA.

We provide a full range of radiation protection support for Employers and Organisations working in high Radon Gas potential areas, including:

• Appointment as Radiation Protection Adviser: L2 is an HSE-recognised RPA Body.

• Radon Risk Mapping: Identifying whether your premises or site are located in Radon Gas         affected areas.

•Design of Radon Monitoring Programmes: Developing tailored strategies for Radon Gas Detector monitoring programmes.

• Implementation of Monitoring Programmes: Supplying and deploying passive Radon Detectors (passive and real time) to provide accurate assessments of average Radon levels. L2 have in-house IRR17 compliant calibrated real-time Radon Gas monitoring instruments that can be used to take initial Radon Gas level measurements ahead of a more long term monitoring.

• Development of Radiation Risk Assessments, Local Rules, and Contingency Plans

• Support for HSE/HSENI Notification Applications: Assistance with regulatory notifications where Radon Gas levels exceed regulatory thresholds.

•Personal Dosimetry advice, including Approved Dosimetry Services (ADS) using Radon Gas Dosimeters and dose assessment via calculations based on Radon Gas levels and exposure times.

•Remediation and Engineering Controls: Advising on and supporting the implementation of mitigation measures including passive and active ventilation systems.

•Training Services, including Radiation Awareness and Radiation Protection Supervisor (RPS) Training

•Incident Investigation & Ongoing Support: Guidance in the event of elevated results, non-compliance issues, or employee health concerns.

Course booking Terms and Conditions

  1. All course fees are payable in full at time of reservation unless agreed otherwise.
  2. A refund of 60% of the amount paid will be made in the event of receipt of written cancellation at least FOUR weeks prior to the date of the course. No refund can be made on cancellation thereafter.
  3. If a candidate cannot attend the course on the agreed date, the candidate may be able to attend the next identical course. If they miss this next identical course, they cannot attend another without the payment of course fees. 
  4. Substitution of delegates (from the same company/firm) can be made at any time prior to the start of the course.
  5. In the event that a course is oversubscribed, The Radon Council reserves the right to place candidates on the course as the course fee is paid. When the course is full, the remaining candidates will be moved to the next suitable course. 
  6. All course documentation is provided solely for the private training and study purposes of individual delegates. Copyright is reserved on all material prepared and provided by The Radon Council.
  7. The Radon Council reserves the right to make any alterations to course arrangements necessitated by circumstances beyond its control.
