Passing of Roger Tornberg

We were saddened to hear of the passing of Roger Tornberg. Roger was a long-standing friend of the Radon Council. He was Managing Director of Radon Centres in Northamptonshire until 2016. He was also a Director of the Radon Council from its early days in 1994, to 2014. Roger was not only a radon practitioner, he also believed in research, publishing a variety of papers. Key topics included the cost-effectiveness of radon protection methods; radon strategies to reduce exposure; sub-slab depressurisation; radon proof membranes. In the 2000’s Roger was particularly active. He was a dynamic, enthusiastic contributor to our understanding of the radon problem and a keen promoter of getting the Councils message ‘out there’.

Course booking Terms and Conditions

  1. All course fees are payable in full at time of reservation unless agreed otherwise.
  2. A refund of 60% of the amount paid will be made in the event of receipt of written cancellation at least FOUR weeks prior to the date of the course. No refund can be made on cancellation thereafter.
  3. If a candidate cannot attend the course on the agreed date, the candidate may be able to attend the next identical course. If they miss this next identical course, they cannot attend another without the payment of course fees. 
  4. Substitution of delegates (from the same company/firm) can be made at any time prior to the start of the course.
  5. In the event that a course is oversubscribed, The Radon Council reserves the right to place candidates on the course as the course fee is paid. When the course is full, the remaining candidates will be moved to the next suitable course. 
  6. All course documentation is provided solely for the private training and study purposes of individual delegates. Copyright is reserved on all material prepared and provided by The Radon Council.
  7. The Radon Council reserves the right to make any alterations to course arrangements necessitated by circumstances beyond its control.
